Optical inspection systems and diagnostic procedures
Optical methods offer the possibility to detect material-, surface- and volume- characteristics of components quickly and with non-contact measurement.
ENIGMA develops quality inspection processes and supplies test systems for the detection and quantification of surface characteristics by means of imaging, especially for the automotive and supplier industry.
By combining our knowledge of quality inspection, process engineering and image processing, compact and cost-effective turn-key solutions are developed which are optimally adapted to the required application.We have been concerned with the cylinder liner coating of modern CI engines very intensively. In particular with the testing and removal of overspray, which occurs during the coating process in the crankcase. Overspray is categorized as a critical residual soil due to its abrasive effect. Also the spray particles adhering with low force have to be removed, e.g. by the use of high-pressure water jets. Classic residual soiling test procedures are not conclusive and too inacurate for the purpose of checking the results of this cleaning process. ENIGMA provides a testing procedure by using an optical inspection system that allows the detection and quantification of the residual amount of overspray.
